B U B B L E S?

B U B B L E S!

Bazooka!

Reflection
the "gum wars" --
if I don't react, will it matter as much?

Reflection
it's nerve warfare!

Reflection
BAZOOKA: def.l -- a large gun
BAZOOKA: def.2 -- a large GUM!

N O T I C E

not ice

SLOOSH! SLOOSH!

white snow
untouched
unmarked
for one fraction of
a moment
the earth
holds its breath
it seems
brown spring snow
worn touched marked
tired
hinting at leaving
revealing
brown earth
yellow-green time
untouched
for a moment
that breathless feeling
again

CARPE DIEM
CARPE GREEN
CARPE WHITE
CARPE BROWN

SLOOSH! SLOOSH!

Messy is a state of mind
Was Darwin a control freak?
Do we (I) have to name everything?

START SOMEWHERE(where?)

START ANYWHERE (when?)

START ANYTIME (then what?)

MOVE (or not)

BEND (how far?)

BREATHE DEEPLY (no need to panic)

Flounder and flap
Turn over and float
Turn and tread water
maybe even swim!

IN LIVING COLOUR
THESE ARE CRITICAL INCIDENTS?

I see
pastel pink
turquoise
mint green
red
black
white

I smell
cherry
blueberry
mint
cinnamon
anise
vanilla

I hear
snap
sloosh -- no slosh!

I feel
threatened

ALL THIS FUSS OVER GUM?
ALL THIS FUSS OVER GUM!

if you stay in the channel
your boat won't go aground
but
you could get swept out to sea
IMAGINE THAT!

all that water
all that sky

Action Research Awareness Process

politics (reality)
policy (reality)
poop! (react)

pause... (reflect)

P I Z A Z Z ! (renew)

It's time to get
BACK TO BASICS?
What in tarnation does that mean?
Back to the
GOOD OLE DAYS
the three R's
Readin'
Ritin'
Rithmetic
(No spelchek bak then, eh)
taught to the tune of the hickory stick
(is that a member of the protected species list?
not the children, the tree!)
Since when do we the children hear music
when we're getting a beating?
Now, you were saying something about "back to basics"?

SO, WHAT DID YOU GET OUT OF THE COURSE?

So, what did you think we were studying, Geology?
Well
I got in and I suppose
I was expected to get out...

Why don't they ask
"So, what did you take into the course?"
Like a prospector
I took a pick, a map, a burro, supplies and grub, dynamite, too
AND I took my time
I got out with BLISTERS, A SUNBURN
and a FISTFUL OF GOLD!

Stake your claim
even if
you're not sure
if
there's gold in them thar hills
or not

No stake
No chance
No chance
No dance
No steak (at the bbq)

ACTION RESEARCH

I'm digging I'm looking
I'm sifting I'm feeling
I'm groping I'm coming up empty
I'm grasping I'm dancing
or, vice versa
I staked my claim, just in case.
Even if all the prospectors don't strike gold,
we'll rejoice at each
nugget found for we all know about
the blisters from digging.

I am the student being studied
My baggage is cluttering up the desk
I feel like I'm the one
at the bottom of the pile
and I wonder why I feel like this

I won't learn from you!
And you're watching me,
I know you are
I can't learn from you!
Your world and mine
are NOT the same

I turn away at first
I stand back, too
Usually I jump in
Where angels fear to tread
But this time I'm wary
I even feel some dread
The rest all seem so eager
And I feel full of lead

So what
So, get the lead out!
and I did

SO WHAT

SO WHAT?

so that...
